THE TRAINING

We specialise in training dogs for purpose and so our expertise is of most
use to working dog people.
However, we do offer one to one training in basic obedience which is more about educating owners and takes the form of an assessment of where the dog and owner are and where they want to be, with advice and help as required.
The first question we ask of owners is “What do you want your dog to do,” sadly the answer usually involves a whole list of what they don’t want their dog to do.
We believe in positive training and so we treat each dog and each owner as individuals and tailor the training to suit their needs.

We are far more likely to teach an alternative behaviour to combat an undesirable one, and firmly believe that the dog whose brain is exercised is far more content and a lot less trouble than the dog whose only exercise is physical.
With this in mind we encourage owners to teach their dogs games to play and problems to solve, and usually find that this improves the bond between dog and owner and leads to a far better relationship.
