SERVICE DOGS

Training for purpose

Our Green Dogs are not Green!

Dex pass out

We are a small training kennel that supplies dogs direct to the Services. We consider our dogs to be ready for whatever role they are required to fulfil, and as such we believe them to be far more than “green” dogs.

We usually only have one or two dogs in training at any one time, and they have the individual attention of both training partners. Dogs are sourced by us and because of our long experience of working dogs failure rates are low. However any failures would be ours and not yours as we sift these dogs out long before they are offered to the Service.

jack

Our dogs are environmentally tested in towns, cities, and other public places. They will be exposed to people, children, cats, traffic and other dogs and will be used to travelling in a cage and living quietly in a kennel and run. We will have proofed them on every type of floor service, ensured they are happy on open metal stairways and raised walkways, and are prepared to climb and cope with tight spaces, restricted vision and heights in pursuit of their ball either targeted or on their own initiative. They may or may not have pedigree papers but will have recognisable specimens of their breed and will have up to date inoculations and flea, worm and tick treatment.

We are Home Office Licensed to hold controlled substances and we are able to supply specialist search dogs (Spaniels/Labradors/Collies) either trained on substances and/or firearms to assessment level, or ready for the introduction of substances, firearms or explosives.

passive indication

Our dogs are trained to give a passive indication whether this may be on a specialist substance or tiny piece of inaccessible tennis ball, and can be trained to body scan or search proactively. However, we do not hold dogs for long periods and prefer to train individuals, so although we may not have a dog ready at the time you are looking it is always worth checking.

Juno

We are at present in the process of importing a GSD bitch from the Czech Republic and have established a reliable source for these high drive dogs. We would hope, in the very near future to be both importing and breeding good working GSDs able to meet Service requirements, and once again these can be trained either to GP Dog Assessment level or simply well rounded, environmentally tested dogs ready for training.
